Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam pronunciation (help·info) (Telugu: ??????? ????????????? ???????????????; born 4 June 1946) is a multilingual Indian playback vocaliser, actor, harmony director, voice actor and a film producer. He is also popularly known as S. P. B. and Balu. He has win the National Film Award for Best Male Playback speaker six times. He has sung over 50,000 songs in 15 Indian languages with a career spanning over 4 decades. He is also the recipient of prestigious civilian awards such as the Padma Bhushan (2011) and the Padmashri in (2001) from the Government of India. He is the only playback singer in India to have win National Film Awards across quaternion languages. Early life and background Balasubrahmanyam was born in a Telugu brahmin family to S. P. Sambamurthy in Konetammapeta, Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] He is married to Savitri. He has 2 brothers and five sisters. He is the elder brother of the well-known singer S .P. Sailaja.
